I first visited the office of Gary Foresman, M.D. onJuly 23, 2019. I had an initial evaluation by Jessica Joslyn, Physicin’s Assistant, followed by numerous and thorough blood tests; a treatment plan was developed. I arranged for a follow-up appointment with Jessica on Monday, June 29, 2020. Since the office does not take Medicare I pay for my consultations up front in cash. For this telephone consultation I paid $175.00 by credit card in advance over the phone at 2:00 p.m.

Jessica was scheduled to call me at 2:15 p.m. By 3:00 p.m. I had not received a call. I called the office to determine what the delay was. I had waited for Jessica for 45 minutes or more in the past at in-office appointments so I had assumed that she was held up with another patient and would call me after.) When I reached the office I was told that she had been trying to reach me during the 45 minutes and I had not answered. I told them that I had been sitting, waiting with my phone in hand. They found that they had written my cell phone number down incorrectly in their records and had been calling a wrong number. They then told me that the next available appointment I would be able to have would be in August, a full six weeks out in the future.

Since I was available for the consultation and they were not able to reach me due to an error in their records, I asked them to credit my visa card for the $175.00 charge. They refused! They indicated that I should have called the office to inquire why they hadn’t called earlier than 45 minutes and intimated that it was somehow my fault that the consultation didn’t go through. They said they would hold my money as a credit to my next appointment in August. This meant that I would have paid out money 6 weeks in advance of any services rendered. This didn’t make any sense to me, since I wasn’t at fault for the consultation not going forward and I hadn’t received anything for the $175.00 I paid out. When I expressed my need to have that refund put through, they again refused. Needless to say, I have severed my relationship with this office. I would not recommend this office to anyone.

First of ALL, I give Middle Path Medicine one star, only because the office, the reception people working there, are so very kind, and accommodating--And i love the fact employees can bring their beloved pets to work-- As far as Dr. Foresman goes... I have to to say, he is a very smart man..his degrees, and diplomas on the wall say all  this.....I was looking to him to be my everything type of doctor, as i had heard he believes in a much more holistic approach to medicine....Well, after my first visit--I was so humiliated and disappointed! I sought him out mainly for bio indentical hormone treatment, and over all wellness....Not only did Dr, Foresman "talk at me" not even letting me have a word in edge-wise, he proceeded to"gush' about his "new" young wife, who looks just like, " Kate Beckinsale!" Then started preaching at me about how I should " grow old gracefully" That i was now a " Crone" and Grand Mother!- I really could not believe what I was hearing! ( this is a middle aged man, himself, mostly likely having a mid life crisis) I suggest he ditch the cow boy boots, and take some breath mints--I do wish him well, but would never recommend him to anyone who is 40 and over---I left the office, embarrassed, humiliated, and yet still paid the fee, knowing i would NEVER come back!

We have gone to Middle Path for a number of years now.  Dr. Foresman and PA Jessica Joslyn both take the time to know the patient and work to determine what is causing the symptoms, and then to treat the issue.  The blood work up ordered is extensive, giving these experts the clues to determine what is occurring, what you are reacting to, etc. They treat the disease, not just prescribe something to mask the symptoms. We feel so strongly in their knowledge and expertise, we have talked our '30 something' kids and spouses into seeing them now, to nip medical issues in the bud, rather than wait until their 50-60's trying to play catch-up/clean up.  As some have noted, they do not take insurance, but they will give a superbilling (just ask) so if you have PPO medical insurance one can submit and your office costs will likely go towards your deductible. I look at their billing like I would any of the other highly skilled/educated professions (attorney's, engineer's, etc.) you are paying for their knowledge to help you through your challenges in the best possible way.  Dr. Foresman continues to amaze me with his up-to-date research and knowledge. Thank you Middle Path.

Dr. Foresman is almost certainly the most knowledgeable internist/physician in the County. My only complaint is that he tends to ramble about things that are not relevant to me. But, there again, I have been diagnosed with narcissism.

He is expensive, but it's our health that's at stake. When you take up sky diving you do not shop around for a bargain parachute.

We are so very fortunate to have Dr. Gary Foresman here on the central coast. He is extremely knowledgeable in integrative medicine and is very generous in sharing this knowledge with the community. I feel that I have gained much invaluable information on health and nutrition these past several years. Dr. Foresman's wife, Miranda, his excellent P.A. Jessica and his entire staff are also very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful and his supplement shop is excellent. I would highly recommend Middle Path Medicine.

The medical services provided by Dr. Foresman and his staff far surpass the medical treatments we and our family members have experienced in the past. We have been looking for someone like Dr. Foresman for a long time. Dr. Foresman's knowledge is extensive. Dr. Foresman is capable of treating a variety of conditions from complex chronic conditions to acute problems. His use of integrative medicine utilizes the best of traditional and cutting edge approaches.

Great practice! This is the most beneficial medical education I have had in my many years. His PA is always helpful and follows with his way of practice methods. I love Dr Foresman and Jessica and the staff is always so welcome.

I went to see Dr Foresman for a second opinion, as I had abnormal cells in my uterus and my conventional Dr was recommending a complete hysterectomy. I am 55 years old. Based upon my extensive test results at the time and the further lab work, exam and further testing Dr Foresman did, he did not recommend a hysterectomy and instead suggested a protocol of specific supplements, exercise and a paleo diet. After six months, a new 3D Pelvic exam was done and one of the abnormal areas is completely gone and the other has diminished considerably. His recommendation is to continue on the path of healing I began and I cannot be more thrilled with my results. Dr. Foresman and his staff are phenomenal to work with and I would recommend them highly to anyone who is seeking an alternative to conventional avenues of wellness!S

I visited MPM for the first time this past Friday from Santa Barbara, CA. The receptionist, Heather, has been very kind throughout my whole process of being seen at MPM, always answers any questions I have in a timely manner and was very welcoming upon my first visit.

I was seen for a Wellness Evaluation by the Medical Assistant, Crystal. She was so kind, relatable and easy to talk to-- which made me feel instantly more comfortable. Crystal took her time to go over all of the tests with me and answer any questions, she was very thorough which I really appreciated.

I explained to her that I have had Cerebral Palsy since birth and I am now dealing with a health crisis where I feel my body is attacking itself. She was able to give me a lot of information on what I can start doing to help improve my health before even seeing Jessica Joslyn at my Consultation in a couple weeks.

While my treatment plan has not been determined yet, I can already tell that MPM will be the right place for me in battling this ongoing health crisis. They really care for their patients and from what I can tell-- have wonderful techniques and therapies that they offer. I'm excited for this journey with them!

Nothing but a great experience all around, I am so grateful I found this doctor I could write a 10 page review. Only downside is that I live 3 hours away. A very relaxed, comfortable environment, staff is nice. I spent an hour with Dr. Foresman and followed up with him through a phone appointment after my test results came back and the suggestions he made to me based on those tests were immediately life-saving and several months after that, proved to be life enhancing, because I feel better than I ever have and no doubt because of his insight that no doctor I have gone to has ever had. I hope he never retires and I will happily make the long drive for this level of care.

He has helped me so much with my hormone imbalance and with managing my anxiety without having to resort to prescription drugs. I have recommended him to many friends.

Great Doctor! His approach is for the optimal health of the patient. Will take the necessary time to treat the underlying problems, rather than treating the symptoms, typical of allopathic treatments.

I am being treated for Lyme disease by Certified PA Jessica Joslyn, and she is the best! I had been dismissed by 5 MDs who said nothing was wrong with me, even though I was a healthy person in my 30s suddenly struck by crippling pain in multiple joints. Jessica is very kind and caring. She took her time to really understand my history and symptoms and get to know me. She suspected Lyme right away, and told me she was going to find the cause of my symptoms. It meant so much to know I finally had someone who believed me and was determined to figure out what was going on. Her confidence gave me hope when I had none. I am two months in to treatment and I am starting to feel really, really good. My joint pain is minimal and fewer joints are affected. I'm using stairs again! If you think you might have Lyme, if you have an autoimmune disorder (esp fibromyalgia, RA, or chronic fatigue), or if you can't get a diagnosis at all... Jessica will be your savior. Her prices are very reasonable, and she does 5-minute follow up calls for free. The staff in the office and supplement shop are all very warm and friendly, too. I highly recommend Middle Path Medicine!

We have been seeing Dr. Foresman for about 5 years and are very pleased with the service and his overall knowledge of medicine and supplements is amazing. Our insurance doesn't cover the visit but what good does a visit to a general crank-you-thru medical office do for you if the Doc's knowledge and understand doesn't address your medical issue, especially the one most doctor don't even keep up on. I do a fair amount of reading on medical issues and I am amazed at how little current knowledge most doctors have about medications and supplements. Highest recommendation.

Dr. Forseman and team have been a critical ally in my fight against stage 4 kidney cancer. Given a terminal diagnosis over two years ago, I wouldn't be here if not for the unconventional naturopathic treatments I have been receiving here.

Middle Path Medicine, Dr. Gary Foresman and all the wonderful staff are so important to my health that I continue to make them my "primary" care providers even though I now live in Arizona. After a visit (in person or on the phone) I always feel so much better and that I am truly cared for as more than just another patient. I love you MPM!!!!

Dr Foresman is complete, thorough, understanding and addresses the number one cause of illness; STRESS. His approach is understanding, and more than just throwing medications at you, he's interested in improving your quality of life NOW and 30+ years from now. I love knowing him and having the information he provides as part of my wellness plan.

This is THE place to go for medical help.  Dr. Foresman is an outstanding physician.  He is so knowledgeable and a compassionate, caring doctor...a hard combination to find.  The Offices at Middle Path are in a charmingly, remodeled old house; so unlike the sterile medical offices elsewhere. The entire staff at Middle Path are super people.  Richard is the Controller in the Tower.  He never misses a beat scheduling appointments, changing appointments, and doing whatever needs to be done to get you into seeing the doctors at Middle Path.  Veronica, the nurse,  is smart, very kind, has a sense of humor, and isn't afraid to show she's human.  I like that in a medically trained person. Did I mention Elvis? He's a cool, calm cat.  Seriously! :-} Sean Morgan

Pam L. wrote this about the office: "Both Dr. Foresman, my primary care physician, and Dr. Maybee, my chiropractor have taken care of me for quite a few years now. I wouldn't think of going to anyone else. They spend time with you, are compassionate, and offer the very best care." -Pam L
